DATKD is my 2nd home that shaped my character to “who I am to be”. This school and Guro Net Dancel has helped me achieve my goals spiritually and mentally - not only in Tae Kwon Do, but in Kali. Guro & her school brought out my confidence, my outgoing nature and I am forever grateful to be a part of this unified family.

The Haleys
When our son, attended his trial class one late summer afternoon, we never would have anticipated he'd immediately ask to sign up, or that his younger sister would follow suit just a few months later. But here we are, 2 brown belts later, and we are thankful to be a part of the DATKD community.
From the get-go, Guro and her amazing team of instructors and assistants have shown how much they care for the kids and families, both on and off the mat. If there's a request to review a kick or a form, they take that extra 10-15 minutes after class to go over the material. Students are encouraged to step out of their comfort zone with in-house tournaments. And during class, they manage to incorporate tae kwon do moves into games, allowing the kids to learn martial arts in a fun way.
Outside of class, they host special events such as "Glow Kick Nights", that allow the students to form bonds outside of their classes, and give parents a few hours to do their own thing. And everyone is always invited to the Halloween party, Holiday shindig, Black Belt Extravaganza and year-end picnic!
Now that we're facing some uncharted waters with Covid-19, Guro and her team have done an awesome job of keeping the kids engaged through online classes. We appreciate the sense of normalcy for all of the DATKD families in these unprecedented times.

Our family has been a part of DATKD for 8 years now when my eldest daughter began at the age of 6. She started off as a shy little girl, but as she progressed in the ranks, she developed this new-found confidence. With that, she was given the opportunity to assist in teaching various belt classes and she loved it. Once she attained her black belt, our youngest daughter decided to finally join and has now become a first degree brown belt herself. Guro has also elevated her school where she offers Kali alongside Tae Kwon Do. I, too, have become a member of the Kali team!
Over the years we have grown closer to Guro and her staff, and it never ceases to amaze us how patient and professional they are with all of the students. The parents have also become like family as we often see one another at the school, which we often think of as our second home. They also have fun and exciting events that provide a welcoming and light-hearted atmosphere for everyone to participate and enjoy each other's company.
Overall, this academy has positively impacted our lives and we will forever be grateful to Guro Annette and our DATKD family.
